Utställningen av Jana King Kochánková och Tomáš King i Konsthallen MEKEN visar målningar, skulpturer och grafiska verk av denna extraordinära konstnärliga duo från Prag. Utställningen, med titeln "Garden of the World", betonar det sammanbindande motivet i deras individuella och samarbetande tillvägagångssätt – att se bortom vardagen och verkligheten vi ser med våra ögon och fånga övergången till en värld av myter, visioner, andlighet och den magiska essens som kan hittas även i det mest vardagliga, om vi kan uppfatta det med hela vår varelse. Båda konstnärernas verk har sina rötter i naturliga motiv – iakttagelsen av landskap kopplade till personliga upplevelser, världen av alla fyra elementen, växter, träd och allt som är kopplat till Moder Jord. Men, något annat flätas samman med detta, uppfattat av det femte sinnet – kopplande energi, naturväsen, gudinnor som vägledare för den feminina principen. Naturen reduceras alltså inte till enbart motivation för konstnärlig representation. Det är en skapare par excellence; man måste anpassa sig till dess bilder och försöka fånga dem – vilket Kochánková och King gör med finessen som utexaminerade från Prags konstakademi.

I Konsthallen MEKENs stora utställningslokaler kommer deras senaste storformatsmålningar på gränsen till abstraktion och konkreta motiv inspirerade av naturens energi att presenteras, tillsammans med en serie keramiska skulpturer av gudinnor, och litografiska verk skapade speciellt för detta tillfälle. Verken kommer att monteras i en monumental installation, inspirerad av såväl naturliga kretsar som principerna för det så kallade medicinhjulet. Utställningen är skapad i samarbete med Karina Kottová, en ledande tjeckisk curator och konstnärlig ledare.

Utställningen ”Garden of the World” arrangeras av Konsthallen Meken ihop med Tjeckiens ambassad i Stockholm, och Tjeckiska centrum Stockholm med stöd av Praha 5 för att utgöra en plats att engagera och på ett inspirerande sätt låta besökarna närma sig tjeckisk konst och kultur.

Vernissage för utställningen äger rum den 31 maj kl. 15 och öppnas med ett invigningstal av Anita Grmelová, Tjeckiens ambassadör i Sverige.

The exhibition of Jana King Kochánková and Tomáš King at Konsthallen MEKEN showcases paintings, sculptures, and graphic works of this extraordinary artistic duo from Prague. The exhibition, titled "Garden of the World," emphasizes the connecting motif of their individual and collaborative approaches – looking beyond the everyday and the reality we see with our eyes and capturing the transition into a world of myths, visions, spirituality, and the magical essence that can be found even in the most mundane, if we are able to perceive it with our whole being.

Both artists' work is rooted in natural motifs – the observation of landscapes connected with personal experiences, the world of all four elements, plants, trees, and all that is connected with Mother Earth. However, something else intertwines with this, sensed by the fifth sense – connecting energy, beings of nature, goddesses as guides of the feminine principle. Nature is thus not reduced to mere motivation for artistic representation. It is a creator par excellence; one must attune to its images and attempt to capture them – which Kochánková and King do with the finesse of graduates from the Prague Academy of Fine Arts.

In the extensive exhibition spaces of Konsthallen MEKEN, their latest large-format paintings on the border of abstraction and concrete motifs inspired by the energy of nature will be presented, along with a series of ceramic sculptures of goddesses, and lithographic works created specifically for this occasion. The works will be assembled in a monumental installation, inspired in natural circles as well as the principles of the so-called medicine wheel. The exhibition is created in collaboration with Karina Kottová, a leading Czech curator and artistic director.

The exhibition "Garden of the World" is organized by Konsthallen Meken together with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Stockholm, and the Czech Center Stockholm with the support of Praha 5 to form a place to engage and in an inspiring way allow visitors to approach Czech art and culture.

Vernissage for the exhibition takes place on May 31 at 3 pm with an opening speech by Anita Grmelová, Czech ambassador in Sweden.
